Dear Tamiko, I hope you're doing well today. I wanted to send you this mssg & express my deep concern regarding an incident I witnessed yesterday afternoon (1/6/08). There is a house at the corner of Garrison & Ladora in which some new folks moved in recently. I believe this is a ''rental'' house. Anyway, these folks have 3 dogs (1 Rottweiller, 1 Rottweiller mix & 1 Chihuaha). These dogs stay indoors most of the time because there is no fence in the backyard - the residents let them out & put them on ''leads'' for several hours each day, so the dogs can get some exercise & go to the bathroom etc. Yesterday afternoon there was a teenage boy walking his 2 boxers down Ladora & the Rottweiller broke loose from his lead & attacked the dogs. The boy was very upset & was fighting to get the Rotweiller away etc. These 2 Rotweiller dogs always seem to be on the ''offensive'' and seem (in my opinion) to be very aggressive & un-predictable. I've seen them many times & they are constantly barking. I'm not sure what can be done, but I feel that these dogs are potentially dangerous & since there's no fence or enclosure for them & since they are well strong enough to break loose; then something should be done. I was hoping you could send them a letter, or speak with them in person to address the other resident's concerns. I'm also not sure if the owner of that home knows that 3 dogs are living there - perhaps you could contact the owner & express our concerns & perhaps the owner could install some type of fence or enclosure for the dogs? Also, the gentleman that lives in the first home on Ladora (on the right) also came outside & the Rotweiller started running at him, so he jumped up onto his Land Rover to keep safe. The owners of these dogs were completely oblivious to the fact that the Rotweiller was loose & running around in the streets - this could be a potentially ''legal'' situation for Dilworth Chase as well if a child is attacked or another dog or cat attacked etc., so something should be done. I'm not trying to create conflict with anyone, but you need to be aware that this is the situation at that particular home. Again, maybe a conversation with the actual ''owner'' of that home may be the best way to proceed.
