Chesterfield Neighborhood Association
Status: Recognized, August, 1997
Meetings: The first Thursday of each month
Chesterfield neighborhood is located on the Southeast side of Des Moines. The Chesterfield Neighborhood Association voted to affiliate with CCI in August of 1999. Within a week of affiliation, the Association had a long-promised gate installed at their community center. Two months after affiliating, they challenged the city to "do their job" and soon had over ten abandoned properties condemned, several brought to code, and two demolished! What else? The Association had a full-blown campaign to stop speeding in their area and developed a $300,000 home repair project with Laurel Hill.
PURPOSE
To promote the health, safety, welfare, and quality of life for the residents of the Chesterfield Neighborhood Association.
