Tbe first agenda item was about the AISD school bond. Despite a lot of research and hard work, Carolyn Merritt announced that the school board Superintendent Pat Forgione is dead set on his $400 M bond package. He?’s not interested in budging on that, depsite many pleas for increasing that bond package and including a new school on Tact 101, not just buying the land. Folks, EVERYONE is in agreement on this issue. AISD may wait years for another bond election and we can?’t wait that long for another school.

Started on time, ran smoothly, 10 of the 11 candidates spoke for 5 minutes are less and then were each introduced one more time. Attendence was moderate (about 200 people), which I can?’t explain. Some people came in, voted and left right away, too! Anyway, there were no long lines, it was comfortable, and very orderly, very civil.

The voting will be completed tomorrow and we?’ll have the results posted right here, as soon as I get the news. I think everyone agreed that we had a very talented and highly motivated group of candidates and they have been listening to your concerns and taking them to the board where they belong.

When we got to the budget, there were several complicated questions: (1) was about how Giles & Shey are paid for the book keeping services (2) where does the $1000 per house sold fund go and who?’s verified or audited that fund ? (3) How were the legal fees spent ? There were no easy answers, of course, and hopefully someone will take some time to flush out those details and share it with the rest of us. That?’s not my specialty, but I have to tell you, it looks complicated. Maybe we do need a committee to prepare a more details report that we can understand. The audit?’s I?’ve read really don?’t say much, other than the books are balanced. There are some of the first things I think that the new board will want to understand, as well.

The committee reports were good and I?’ll get to that later. I just wanted to report that the meeting was informative and enjoyable. Thanks for all of your work this year and your support to make it happen.

The Campaign

The Campaign

It was an interesting Annual meeting, even before one walked through the front door.

Cindy Groves, one of the new co-chairs of the pool committee, was outside the front doors with some kids handing out yellow sheets. They also had a poster or two.

They were handing out the first negative printed campaign materials I saw for the campaign. The Headlines said:

''We've had a gang of three.
Let's not have a gang of five.
Vote for independent candidates...''

Then it listed 6 candidates.
I guess those 6 were a gang of six?

It didn't make much sense to me.

I was saddened to see children handing out negative campaign materials.

-------------------

Since the ''Gang of 3'' destroyed the email address list, the CCHOA has no way of emailing the membership with the results. Find out who won - here on this website Thursday.

The counting of the votes begins in the morning...stay tuned.

Our CCHOA will be represented with 7 residents as of Thursday. Congratulations Circle C, no matter who wins, we are much better of than we were in the past.

Circle C has already won!
