thanks Mark,

I did talk to Tim earlier & he said this
would be a bit of a drive for him. He
suggested capturing them & putting them
in a plastic pail (with a lid) and release
them somewhere.

He says he uses padded BBQ tongs for coral
snakes. I won't use anything short of
proper snake tongs, though.

coral snakes

Actually, coral snakes eat other snakes and sometimes small lizards. Its the bigger snakes that eat rodents - like the Texas Rat snake.

Kinda thought that might be the case...he's way up in Georgetown. But, as I mentioned, I'm only five minutes away and would be happy to come down and ''rescue'' any snakes, as long as I'm home.

saving snakes

I haven't found anymore so maybe the
snake 'stampede' is over.

I did ask to have a notice put in the next
newsletter so that people new to the area
would be aware that these snakes shouldn't
be picked up.
