Dear Edwardson Lane/Edwardson Cove Residents:

Over the past year, we?’ve heard from several of you about making improvements to the ?“donut?” located in the center of the Edwardson Cove cul-de-sac. We hear you and are happy to report that significant progress has been made toward making the ?“donut?” an attractive piece of our neighborhood.

We would like you to know a little about what has gone on to help you get a better picture of some of the complexities involved in making these much needed and often requested improvements.

As a result of the settlement a few years back between the Circle C Homeowners Association (CCHOA) and the City of Austin, this parcel of land was categorized as being under the care of the City of Austin. The CCHOA Board has waited to approach the City about making changes until most of the original settlement paperwork was finalized. Now that we know how things ended up, we felt we could start making changes?—and so, we are.

The CCHOA has approached the City of Austin about making improvements to this parcel and transferring responsibility for upkeep of the area to the CCHOA as part of the licensing agreement with the City of Austin. We believe this is the right thing to do for the neighborhood and the City. This area would become one of the non-irrigated naturalized areas of the CCHOA. We proposed the use of drought tolerant native plants, native grasses, and mulch in the specification for the area. We believe this will provide a low maintenance yet very agreeable environment in our neighborhood that ?“fits?” with the native planting direction that we have been following for several years.

The landscape crew would be instructed to review the area on a weekly basis and provide weed treatment and trimming as appropriate.

Enclosed is a copy of the proposed landscape plan for your review. If you have any comments on the plan, please e-mail info@circlecranch.com or write the CCHOA at 5919 LaCrosse, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78739. Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to hearing from you and we must request that we receive your comments by June 10, 2004 so we can review them for our June CCHOA Board meeting and get started with the improvements during this year?’s planting season.

Thank you,
CCHOA Board of Directors.
