A rental property beside my house is being turned as a car shop. Different people come and go into this property with their trucks. They use their tools that sounds like jackhammers most of the time. Unfortunately, I live in a corner lot and the garage of this rental property is facing my backyard. Even with my windows closed and TV turned on with high volume, I can feel the windows vibrating and definitely the noise they create.
I wanted to approach these men to politely request to turn it down a bit, but these are not the approachable neighborly people that you would hope for. These are rowdy men with tatoos with beer on one hand and drill bit on another hand. A single woman in her 50's like me will have second thoughts approaching these people.
I was able to talk to the landlord and she said that I am complaining too much. I inquired about this with the police department and they said they have to go by the noise ordinance (noise created between 7am - 9pm is allowed).
Can anyone please help? This is the first time I have complained about a neighbor and everytime I ask for help it seems that I get to a dead end.
