Dear Valley Neighbor:
In an effort to increase public awareness and promote public efforts to combat crime and control blight through community involvement The Valley Park Civic Association will be hosting a series of ?“NEIGHBORHOOD WALKS?” on the following dates:
Wednesday June 28th, 2006 6:30 pm
Wednesday July 26th, 2006 6:30 pm
Wednesday August 30th, 2006 6:30 pm
All walks will begin at the Valley Inn located at 4000 W. Clybourn Street and finish at the Valley Park on 42nd and St. Paul Aveune. All Valley Residents are invited to walk.
The Neighborhood Walks will involve the Captain and officers from Police District #3, Alderman Michael Murphy, and a representitive from the Department of Neighborhood Services. By meeting and interacting with us about crime and neighborhood problems these walks allow officials to have an effective communication link with us. Any Valley residents who wish to walk with these officials and other neighborhood participants are welcome. If you cannot walk the entire area that?’s been designated for that evening walk, that?’s o.k. just join us for whatever works for you!
During the course of the Walks, residents and officials can discuss problems and the needs of the Valley Park Neighborhood. This could include gang and drug activity, prostitution, graffiti, building code violations, street lighting, abandoned cars, public drinking, traffic and parking issues. These walks will bring residents together, creating a powerful network to help combat neighborhood problems.
