Using a Mayor’s Matching Grant, the Coach Homes at Mariner’s Village Condominium Association created a dog park from an old, unused tennis court. Cement was dug up, grass and trees planted and a dog wash station, poop bag station and benches were added.
Residents even installed a path around the dog park, providing a safe place for neighbors to exercise. Not only is this a great way to enhance a neighborhood and build a sense of community, but this was the first time a Mayor’s Matching Grant was used to repurpose a tennis court in to a dog park.
