I know times are tough and I am grateful to have a job but I noticed on my commute to work this morning a sign in the yard at 4692 Quince that said "Candy Lady" with an arrow pointing to the garage. I assume the sign is to attract kids walking to and from Colonial Middle School, normally this is how the "candy lady" works.
I'm all for home based businesses when zoning allows, all licences are obtained, and the nature of the business doesn't result in neighborhood foot traffic or blemishes but I am not in favor of a neighborhood candy lady.
For every "Candy Lady" there is a "Wrapper Yard" nearby.
Not to mention "Neighborhood Candy Ladies" are a sign that your neighborhood is trending "negative" and I think we can all agree we need to tighten up on this activity. This includes daily front yard rummage sales, Greenway Home Services trucks on Welsh, and The Casa at the corner of Quince and Marcia with the 6 ft. chain link fence surrounding it.
