Coleman Park Neighborhood is the historic center of the City of West Palm Beach's African-American community. Originally named Lincoln Park, it was renamed for local community leader George P. Coleman. The Coleman Park Community Ctr.& Park is named in his honor and is home to memorabilia in honor of the Negro League Baseball Players who played there in the 40's & 50's; including some of the city's own. Other notable landmarks are the historic Pine Ridge Hospital Site, The Storm Of '28 Burial Site, The U.B. Kinsey School Of The Arts, "Old Roosevelt High", Vickers House, and several other Historic Homes throughout the neighborhood north of “Historic Northwest”.
