We have waited a long time for The new North Branch Library.
Here is the time to lend your voice for City Council approval and affirmative vote.
- The City Council will vote on awarding the contract for the construction of the new North Branch Library to Woodcliff Corporation of Los Angeles, in the amount of $12,691,525.
The new North Branch Library, to be located in the 5800 block of Atlantic Avenue, will be a state of the art, 24,655 square foot single story facility. It will include areas for children, teens and adults, as well as three community meeting spaces.
The new building, which will replace the existing North Branch library located at 5571 Orange Ave., will feature artistic glass walls and green foliage and be built to a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program "Silver" standard. As such, it will incorporate many energy-efficiency and water conservation measures while improving indoor air quality and reducing the consumption of resources.
