My husband and I woke up to a bit of unappreciated news this morning. Sometime during Saturday night, 4/4/09, someone had used black spray paint on a white car that has been sitting in front of our house. That particular white car (1998 Oldsmobile) had belonged to my recently deceased parents. We live on a very quiet street in the SIPNA neighborhood and have never experienced any kind of vandalism like this.

We will be watching for any future activities of this nature on our street! As always, be careful. It is unfortunate that some miscreants do not respect other people's property!

In the wee hours of the morning, 4/5/09, someone egged my home.  I have the car tag # etc of the eggers and I tried to file a police report however, the police told me that they don't consider egging vandalism.  What a joke!!!!!!  There is also a security officer in the neighborhood that is willing to back my story up as he saw these same people egging cars in the neighborhood.  I guess we as citizens need to be ready to take the law into our own hands since the police are unwilling to help.  EGGING IS VANDALISM.

I have recently noticed some graffiti on the playground equipment in Sea Isle Park. I was very concerned when I saw it because we usually do not see that kind of stuff in the park. I have alerted the city park department and they assured me that will get it cleared up. People who live near the park, please keep an eye out for suspicious activity in the park at night. Do not be afraid to call the cops if something seems fishy. We need to let the bad element in this city know that we will not tolerate that crap in SIPNA. The key to keeping a strong community is for neighbors to watch out for one another and to keep a lookout for trouble makers. If they know you are watching they are less likely to stay around.

The graffiti on the playground equipment was removed by the city.
