The CP House Tour last Sunday was wonderful. I met many neighbors and just wanted to say thanks to all the folks that volunteered and opened their homes to us. I got lots of ideas and inspriation!

Nice but a little stuffy.

I went on the house tour too but I thought it seemed a bit stuffy to make people take their shoes off or put on those gross shoe covers. I felt like I was intruding not welcome. I went to a lot of houses where the owners were not home. That seemed strange to me. Having people dressed up in costume was also a bit pretentious. It was a fundraiser I was told - please do not tell me that those costumes were paid for from the proceeds of the tour - or worse - from the association dues.

I am moving to Congress Park from another nearby neighborhood and was hoping to meet people but the way things were set up it was not very conducive to that. It was also VERY HOT so maybe people were grumpy... Anyway just suggestions for the next one maybe it could be a little more welcoming. Where I live not the house tour are in the later afternoon / evening and people put out food and drinks... Just an idea.
