A Serious Discussion

I'm the one who believes that CVELG is unethical. So you want to have a serious discussion. Okay. Let's start with a definition of ethical. According to Webster's, ethical means "conforming to a standard of what is right and good." The standard of what is right and good regarding the location of a county jail is established by the metropolitan area in which we live - not by CVELG. Based on the information I have read, every existing county jail in the Denver metro area is closer to existing residential areas than Broomfield's jail will be to Countryside. By application of the definition, Broomfield has been ethical in its jail location decision. For CVELG to assert otherwise is, by definition, unethical.
I believe it is unethical for CVELG's members to raise concerns about plutonium. The levels of plutonium in soil where Broomfield will build the jail are essentially the same as those in Countryside. CEVELG's members are being hypocritical when they raise plutomium concerns. They are saying that it was okay to build hundreds of homes in these soils, but building a jail in the same soils threatens their safety. This is hypocritical. It should also be noted that the plutonium levels are also essentially the same in Westminster's Westmoor business park that will stir up substantially more soil than will Broomfield's jail. CVELG's members do not seem to have any problems with what is being done in Westmoor.
I believe CVELG's members were unehtical when they tried to use scare tactics with their neighbors by proclaiming that the jail will lower propery values and will increase crime. You knew better, but still used the scare tactics. This does not conform to a standard of what is right and good.
Now, CVELG's members say this is no longer about the jail. It's about ethics and repealing the City and County of Broomfield constitutional amendment. Yet, one of your leaders was quoted as saying: "If Broomfield no longer has county status, there will be no need for a Broomfield county jail." Another one of your leaders was quoted as saying: "The jail will never open its doors." Go figure.
Broomfield's voters approved the constitutional amendment creating the City and County of Broomfield by a 62% majority. Yet, you listen to the diatribe of Broomfield Anon and believe this person knows what Broomfield residents want and do not want. This person is sadly mistaken. The only reason you listen to this person is because the he or she tells you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear.
CVELG's members label as unethical anyone who does not agree with them. They have even labled Westminster's city council as unethical because the council decided against supporting your dubious goals. I believe that when CVELG labels others as unethical simply because others disagree with CVELG, CVELG is, by definition, being unethical.
You do not live in Broomfield. Yet, you want to repeal Broomfield's county status because of your vindictiveness. Broomfield has not harmed you in any way. You are insulting the state's voters by saying that they were uninformed when they approved by constitutional amendment.
All in all, CVELG has no real basis to its shenanigans and is, by definition, highly unethical.

The last thing this group needs is a leader. All appear to be qualified, intelligent persons more than capable of making their own decisions; let alone being duped by someone named anonymous.

You are welcome to your statements and beliefs; but please, do not insult the others by implying that they are following me; I am just a participant; and the group would be more than successful without my input. They do not need me to lead them.

If you consider my thoughts as insults, so be it. You are obviously feeding CVELG all sorts of "information" which is your right. Feed them whatever you want. None of this has anything to do with the fact that CVELG is unethical. If you choose to endorse their unethical behavior and actions, go ahead. If it meets some need you have, good for you.

My need is to return honest communication between BF council and BF citizens. Are you aware that the sessions of the council determining to put this as a ballot issue was never publicized as taking place. Why, on every issue except this one; is there publication of study sessions and council agendas. Are you aware of the statements presented as fact to the state legislature; since as we voted in 1998 for a county? The vote, anonymous was a telephone poll of 300 residents out of 34000. Are you aware, that since the ballot question was approved for CVELG; that BF council is now preparing an appeal; ready to take it to the Colorado State Supreme Court? This has not been publicized; if they were so integrus; why has this not been publicized for the citizens.

Additionally, why did this sit for 15 months without any reaction from the council. Several council members; stating it was a non-binding vote in 1996; flatly stated to me that they did not have to react to this vote. Then, all of a sudden, decisions are made within a very short span of time. Why? Perhaps, Interlocken wanted the NW Parkway to increase property values; check out the NW Parkway Project.

Hopefully, I have given you some thoughts to ponder. This is why I am involved--A need for integrity between BF council and BF citizens.
