Trashy Yards & Covenant Control
I too think Wash Park needs some control on the structures built these days. I also would like to see some covenant controlled items take place. I don't care what color my neighbor paints his or her house, but I do care that it gets painted... if you get what I mean.
I am so sick and tired of driving by trashy yards (I have one neighbor who has an old car parked on bricks in the backyard by the alley, another neighbor who never mows his lawn in the summer, another neighbor who's roof's shingles are falling all over the place, another neighbor who thinks reynolds wrap foil is a great item to use in making a living room curtain, so all you see is silver in their windows (that family is strange!!!), etc. etc. Hey I know I have my days when the leaves aren't swept away for a while, I'm no angel. But I do think we all know "those neighbors" who just don't care at all! I would love a covenant rule about this matter. Maybe these folks could move to a trailer park. Oh did I mention the neighbor who likes to store his luggage, boxes, tools, etc on his front porch? I just don't get these people.
Sorry for venting. But I would support a Historical Landmark just for these reasons alone.... I really don't care if the person wants to pull up a fence, gate, flag pole. I just want stricter rules on maintaining a nice neighborhood.
