I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that the noise level has increased by 20%-25% since the wall along the highway has been completed?

I live just over a block from the highway and it seems that the traffic noise bounces against the West wall and over the East wall, thus increasing the noise level.

It is louder now than when we only had the trees.

Thanks for you message. I have not received any complaints about the increase in noise. During the public process the highway personel warned that the residents that would benefit from the barrier would be those adjacent to the barrier. Noise would continue to bounce over the wall. The level of noise seems to be affected by the wind direction, cloud cover and speed of the vehicles.

I have also noticed more noise, but I can't be sure how much of it is because the dampening effect of vegetation is gone or because of noise bouncing off of the west wall.
