I know that the design idea for the north end of Mayfair park was a good idea, but it just doesn't seem to be working. The city is spending a lot of money trying to fix the 'natural grassland', but I think it is an idea whose time just hasn't come. Why not stop the waste of money and turn the weed patch into a more beautiful part of the park. I'm sure the neighbors whose homes boarder on the weed patch would agree with me.

Weed Patch

Richard - Thank you for your comments on the ''weed patch'' located on the North border of the park.
The original design of the park was to feature the Smokey Hill Trail. Keeping that in mind park designers decided to plant indegenous plants that would of been on the trail 100+ years ago. Over the last four years this area has struggled to live up to that reputation often looking more like a weed patch than an authentic Smokey Hill Trail.
This year the City has undertaken a revamping effort which included spending money to develop the trail as designed.
While it may still look like a weed patch now perhaps as the new plants mature in the next couple of years the trail will become what it was intended to represent.
