Palmer Foundation/Neill Ranch

Posted in: SKYWAY
Some of you may be aware of the intentions of the Palmer Parks Foundation to auction the 10 acre parcel that is known as the Neill Property. This property is one of the last remaining pieces of local Skyway history. It is located where La Veta Way dead ends to the east. The owner's wishes before passing and donating the parcel to the Palmer Parks foundation was that it be devoloped only as it is in a prk-like setting. That is, the same number and size of buildings. I don,t think Mr. Neill would approve of the current situation.

Neil property /Palmer Foundation

I believe that the 5-acre parcel on the Northwest corner of the Neil property was never bequeathed to the Palmer Foundation by Mrs. Neil but continued to be owned by her sons, the Neil brothers. There was always potential that this land might be sold.

I will research this a little further and will provide information to the discussion forum if desired.

Let me know.

Neill Property Update

Thanks to Frank for the following factual update (some of the information in my previous e-mail was a guess at best).

(1) Two 5 acre Neill parcels were sold to Buster Cogswell, attorney for the Palmer Foundation and Mark Edger, appraiser of the parcels.

(2) The Palmer foundation has the main Neill Property parcel on the market at $750,000 for an auction bid on or before Jun 15, 2000.

(3) Deed restrictions apply to the Neill Property.
