What do we have to do to get Forestedge repaved I have lived here 22 years and everytime I have ever called they come up and spray a little tar in the cracks. I can take you downtown and show this city that most of the alley's look better than a street that they think needs to be a flow through street. For all the taxes that have come out of Strawberry Farms they could of fixed all the streets ten times over. It looks like trash. Mayor Colman needs to come look at it. He is alway talking about making thing look nice. Sorry but In 22 years I have seen almost nothing done up here for all those taxes.Streets falling apart,no street cleaning, and plowing when there is snow. And no speed bumps here but you can go over and see the nice fancy ones on Tamarack Circle and Tamarack blvd. and all those streets over there. Later on I will go take pictures of how nice they are and bring them to one of the meetings and find out where else I can send them. They are made of bricks and are about eight feet wide with nice ramps up and down. They will not damage your car like most but will make you want to slow down.

RE: Forest Edge Paving

I agree 100% although I do not live on Forest Edge but travel it daily to Magnolia Blossom Blvd. (same road)it sometimes appears that there is a division line where Forest Edge ends and Magnolia Blossom Blvd. begins.
Immediately at the change of signs the pavement improves dramatically. I have seen this type of situation in my old home town where a township boundary was the villian.
I am gratful for the traffic light at Watt road so we can turn left onto Sunbury safely but it appears that the cut through traffic enjoys it more now also. We need to do something about the speed people are driving using our street for a shortcut.

Agree

I have only lived in the neighborhood for 7 years but I completely agree that people travel way too fast on our streets. (I'm guilty of it myself sometimes.) However, as my kids get closer to the age where they will be able to visit neighborhood friends I worry about them crossing the streets with the traffic the way it is. Although I really dislike speed bumps, I do believe that we have a responsibility to our children to ensure their safety and if speed bumps will slow down speeders then I am for it.

P.S. We live on a Cul-de-sac and our street is NEVER plowed or salted. It is horrible to drive on because you get compacted snow and then when it starts to melt and then freezes again at night it is truly a nightmare in the morning to navigate.
Thank You

Thanks for the message. I believe I met you late night. I have been working on the paving issue for nearly a year. We have had several streets that needed work, the city says that we will see re-paved streets, but it is being done at different times. I am hopeful, just impatient. As far as the speed bumps, I have been in contact with our liasion Jim Graham, and he already has responded with names that I am tryint to arrange a meeting with as we speak, so hang in there.
