Where are HOA fees $100/yr?

Do they have the same property density. number of ponds, retention areas. etc.. We must compare apples to apples here.

My Friend lives in Bristol Commons. Pretty nice area, but only one enterance and 1 pond. I know there fees are more than $100. What about the subdivision to our west? I think they are much more. Also a subdivision by the Y off Liberty. I think more like $750?

I do not have facts, but do you, and what do they include? The previous poster laid it out. Fact! We have to mow this ground. Now go door to door and ask those who live by the green space. Weeds, or no Weeds? Wild Flowers do not prohibit the growth of wild weeds. It would be a mess. Then if we quit mowing this, what about the grounds around the ponds. Why should we mow them, or the retention areas.

Your are trying very hard to open a big can of worms here. Let it be.

What subdivision do you know of that has lower dues than $100 ? Unless it's in Dublin, where just about everything is paid for by taxes. Our property requires a lot of maintenance and it doesn't come cheap. I'm sure the Trustees bid the job out and got the lowest bid. You mentioned wild flowers, can you imagine the animals that this will attract ?

Most importantly where has it been done. I would like to drive by and look. We should always consider reasonable alternatives.

It's not a reasonable alternative, it's a stupid idea. I don't want a bunch of weeds backing up to my house. Can you imagine what the retention basin would look like ? Not to mention the pollen count would be out of sight, because there would be no way to control the weeds, like dandelions, ragweeds, crabgrass, milkweeds,etc. Plus, it would attract field mice, raccoons, Possums and who knows what other kinds of animals. Think , before you speak.
