Trustee Promise

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
I want to be careful how I say things because I don?’t want to offend anyone especially if they are working on neighborhood issues. And this is the problem; we have no idea if they are. I mean they could and we just don?’t know it. There could be some huge disaster they are working on or maybe nothing is going on. My point is how do we know what's going on except for blind faith? Is there some form of checks & balances in place? How do we know if things are being taken care of? Does anyone know for sure except the three trustees?

One trustee made a promise before being elected. ?“We need to have the trustees communicate with the homeowners more often, I believe we need meetings every 90 days and there should be a trustee newsletter sent out with information regarding their progress on issues related to the subdivision. An outline of issues and what will be discussed should be provided in the homeowner?’s letter informing them of the meeting.?”

I know these words are significant. It?’s irrelevant which trustee said his but how will it get done if it even has been addressed. I reiterate that we should all be careful how responses are phrased and done in a constructive manner. My intent is not to point the finger but make sure we, the homeowners, are informed. We?’ve been promised an updated web site, meeting minutes and current newsletters to which I have not seen any of these.

I'm sure they are working hard but just what if there is some dilemma going on. Every homeowner will be responsible for that potential liability so is it too much to ask for meeting minutes or a quarterly newsletter?
Response

We received an update about 1.5 months ago and I thought it was very well done. They provided updates on just about everything and I thought it was very professional. Just my opinion.

Did you get this?

As far as the website and communication. The trustees do as volunteers right? Well communication basically equals time. That's a fact. Maybe the realize that the more communication channels the more time is spent.

Trust me I'm one that is concerned about what is going on. I believe our home values and the future of our development depend on their actions.

For example I truly hope they work very closely with ODOT and lawyers on the land/entrance issues as Powell road is widened. This is a chance to make a fantastic entrance at no expense to BBF home owners. I hope they hold special meetings specifically to address this issue as it develops.

I do not like the fact that the one fountain for example has not been fixed. Summer is now almost over. If it's been fixed recently the please disregard this note but as of 2 weeks ago it was not. That is not right and it should of been fixed in the Spring.

Promise

If you are so concerned , why don't you call one of them and ask them ? If there was some kind of an emergency, you would have heard about it by now. These people have a life too, are you willing to put in those kinds of hours and not get paid ? Have a meeting every ninety days ,for what? So only five people show up.

I don?’t know if you think people reading this is na?¯ve or you?’re not reading those comments. You believe the answer to everything is to call someone. Is it so difficult to cut & paste the trustee meeting minutes they have on a website? They do have meetings don?’t they? I don?’t see how doing this task that might take 15 minutes prevents them from having a life. Let?’s say it takes an hour to cut, paste & post. Isn?’t that still worth it to keep everyone informed, show the neighbors all the work they are doing and instill confidence?

Please don?’t try and manipulate the original posters seemingly candid comments. I for one am not buying it. We are ALL held responsible if problems were to occur and not just the trustees. The only way I know if there is a problem is if one of the trustees communicate to us on a regular basis. If we don?’t make an effort to find out we are just as guilty as the people that withhold the information.
