Advice to new members

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
I just read many of the threads on this site. Wow!

It is very clear that this is a site that is controlled by those who have no interest in the future of BBF.

Don't try to use this site if your intention is to make BBF better.

For whatever reason it seems to be used primarily by those who want to see the subdivision divided and run into the ground.

Yes I am running away. It is best to do so. I am new to BBF and am sorry that I bought here. Sorry that I even read this site.

I would like to know who the people are who are so against keeping BBF homeowners accountable.

Dont care!!! Go with the flow and let people live their life. If you dont like it go live in condominium community.
Sure,,,,

You are so concerned that you make nameless posts on a meaningless website...please!!
You misunderstand

First of all, like one of the other posters said, I think most of the posts out here against ''accountability'' are bogus.

The people that are being labeled as opposed to it are more concerned about the other peoples' apparent lack of knowledge when it comes to what the HOA is allowed to do and what is really in our deed restrictions. There is nothing in my deed restrictions that say I can't have two satellite dishes. But, some people seem to think that because they don't like it, then it's wrong and the homeowner should be forced to take them down.

People aren't opposed to accountability. They're opposed to arbitrary and ignorant enforcement. Not everyone has the same set of deed restrictions. The more recently developed areas seem to have looser restrictions than the older parts of the subdivision. Until the HOA knows what to enforce and when, arbitrary enforcement is dangerous and could cost all of us alot of money if someone decides to sue.

My set of restrictions says the HOA can take a homeowner through arbitration. So, there is already a way for the HOA to enforce disregard for the restrictions. If there are so many serious infractions, why isn't it being done?

The other problem is that the majority of the people that I have talked to do not think that a homeowner should be chastised/fined/taken to arbitration for planting a tree that is 5'10'' high instead of 6' (just one example). There are alot of REALLY picky items in the deed restrictions that would have to be revised or removed before I would EVER vote for a fine system. And, technically, my restrictions say any tree I plant must be between 6 and 8 feet tall. So, if I plant a beautiful 14 ft. tree is the HOA going to fine me? Because, technically, I have not followed the rule.

Who decides when it's okay to not follow the rules? You? A panel of homeowners who might or might not represent the views of amajority of the subdivision? Because, according to these posts, most people in this subdivision don't care enough to attend a meeting or vote for a trustee. It'll end up being a panel of homeowners who want to be mean and nasty to neighbors they don't even know, yet feel free to call names via anonymous posts on this website.
