Deed restrictions

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
People seem to be more concerned with what the deed restrictions say or don't say. It matters little, the point is, you have to get permission from the HOA to install, build, remodel, landscape, etc. There are procedures in place to protect us all and our investment. If people don't want to abide by these rules, maybe they should move out to the country. The Trustees are not out to ''GET'' someone ,because they plant a tree that is maybe too short, or their grass gets a little high. There is a small group here, that is trying to instill fear in everyone, that the HOA will come down on you with a vengeance, this is all a myth. I suggest you all come to the next meeting and get your facts there.
to the point

You just made a very good point. If you just do what is asked of you than there are no issues.
Exactly !

Thank you ! That was exactly my point. people just want to do whatever they want, because this is America ! In the real world, it's not like that. Nobody wants to be told what they can and cannot do, that is until a neighbor does something they don't like and then they are looking for the nearest help.
Common sense will always prevail.
I understand, but

I send through a plan letting the HOA know what I want to do. I want to put two satellite dishes in my yard. Are they going to tell me I can only put one in? I let them know I want to put in a Willow tree. Is somebody going to tell me I cannot? There is rumor that a homeowner was told in the past that their trees were too small and were asked to fix the problem.

I think the point here is that there will also be a difference of opinion in terms of what a person likes as opposed to someone else. Who is going to say yes or no to someone's request and based on what?
