Big Bear ?

Where did you ever hear that the people that owned this land, founded the Big Bear stores ? I don't think that's true.

Why don't you think that is true? I have lived in this area all my life. This area including Shamrock was once a farm. It was called Big Bear Farm. The two silos still here were next to a steer barn where they raised angus steers. the rest was a working farm. There was a house on what is Powell road that was the original farmhouse. Big Bear stores started with the original store on Lane avenue which is not the River Watch. It was my understanding through the years that the owners farm was here? If you know more maybe I am wrong?

Big Bear founded

In 1932 Robert Otis and Roy Dawson, opened up the first Big Bear supermarket, in Hoboken NJ, NOT Lane Ave.
Also, It had nothing to do with the land that was known as Big Bear Farms.
