Department of Buildings Commissioner Robert LiMandri
and the President of the Real Estate Board of New York, Steven Spinola is
working to decrease the city’s safety by reducing requirements for crane operator
licensing to increase their profits.
New York City’s complex infrastructure needs the
most experienced operating engineers to handle huge machinery for the safety of
our citizens and workers.
To lay off New York City workers, lower
standards and endanger the streets of New York simply makes no sense. How many
more accidents will we witness at the hands of lesser trained, out of New York
operators?
We hopethat you would work with us to let City Hall know that this in unacceptable andshould never happen.
