FYI, I have used the SAPD non-emergency number of 227-7201 with very good results.  The other night there was loud music from a vehicle, and then from the house 2 doors down.  I called SAPD, and they arrived within 30 minutes.  They drove into the cul-de-sac with their headlights off, then drove slowly around.  They then stopped in front of the house, turned on their spotlight, and looked around.  Next, the officer got out of their car and went up to the door.

227-7201, SAPD, non-emergency number...keep it handy!

This evening, two young men were starting to tag (graffiti) a green CPS power distribution box on 3600 Lake Sunset.  I approached them and they left in a hurry.  I reported the incident to the police.  The license was TBS-485.

The police were delayed because they did not have a current code that allowed them entry to our community.  They had to wait until someone else drove in.

While they took my report, another youth apparently looking for friends on this street, parked in front of the police vehicle.  One of the officers asked him to step out of his vehicle.  After a brief search, they discovered drugs.  He was handcuffed and placed in the back of the police car.

Thank you for your diligence.  Be careful.  I forwarded your posting to our Property Manager - Julie Sorrento of RealManage for follow up on the police delay at the gate.

Do you have a description on the car?

Ok, so I'm newer to this neighborhood, but this is what I don't get... this seems to have been going on quite a while now and where I've read pages and pages in the HOA info. about how you have to make sure to maintain your yard/house and make sure you get permission to do just about anything to your house; these kids are still able to wreak havoc on this neighborhood?  Is there nothing the HOA can do regarding this situation?  I think the issues about people's yards and work they are doing to their houses pales in comparison to this issue.  Is it as long as they pay their mortgage and their HOA fees they can stay no matter how many times the cops have been called?  It makes me feel like I need to up my security on my house...install cameras to the outside; or would that be an approved addition to my house?  Sorry for my frustration, but my proximity to the situation makes me so.
