resident from the 1940s looking for photos

Posted in: Tauxemont

My family moved to a 'new' cinderblock house at what was  #7 Bolling Road (not drive) about 1947. Moved to NYC in '51. But those were great times for famiies. The community center was very active and hosted memorable Halloween parties, among other things. I can't find photos of my old home; numbers have changed. But it was about halfway up from the beginning of the road and Westmoreland. It was a long, narrow lot and Ft. Hunt Road was at the back of the property, with no other homes inbetween. Hollin Hills was just being developed and I attended the 'new' Hollin Hills elementary school after it was finished; having been schooled temporarily at Ft. Hunt quansot huts and the old Groveton School. I would love to be able to communicate with anyone who knows of, or had relatives living there just after the war years. My last name at the time was Milt. My dad was Harry Milt; he was an editor with the (then) Washington Times Herald. Old photos would be wonderful!!!!

Thanks; you still have a  great community at Tauxemont historic district.
