In order to help us meet the community’s needs and goals, we all need to work together and are asking for your input and ideas. 1. What activities do you expect our Neighborhood Crime Watch Program to provide? Are we responding to the problems you feel need to be addressed?



2. Have you ever had a situation when you didn’t know who to talk to at the police department, or felt not enough attention was being applied to your issue? Would you like a neighbor from the Crime Watch Association to assist you as well?



3. Would you consider helping us form a Neighborhood Alert program? For example: if there is a rash of car vandalisms, home burglaries, or possible drug sales/use in your area, would you like to form a phone alert chain?



4. Neighborhood Policing is a Garland Program that assigns a “Neighborhood Policeman” to your area. What do you want your Neighborhood Police Officer to know about your area? Have you ever had a need to contact your Neighborhood Police Officer? And if so, was the response timely? Was your problem resolved?



5. If you had had a reason to call 911 or the Garland Police Department, have you been satisfied with the officer’s response?

Special Needs

For those that have special needs persons of all ages, there is an option to have that address listed with the police and fire to alert them to the urgency or special needs for mobility and communication techniques. Is this something you are interested in? Would you like to see a unit trained to handle these needs?
