Verizon subcontractors are prepping the easments to repair the landscape damage. I found the the schedule for my circle will be on a thursday
( maybe) and the does not coincide with the water schedule. It is fitting that they repair the damage but they have NO idea about our water restrictions. We do not want to violate , especially with Lavon declining, but it is a shame to waste the sod that they are required to do. I have written the water dept asking for a variance for our neighborhood for those homes who would not be able to water in the new soda for some days. I also asked verizon to TRY to learn about our need to preserve water as it is acute and to try to work with the city schedule. We shall see so stay tuned.

verizon repairs to grass/shrubs

I did forget to note that one can hand water any time .For those that have health or job reasons that preclude hand watering, it would be nice to have a one time variance at the time of installation of the new grass.

The contact for a waiver to water new sod on off days is Robert Ashcraft - RAshcraf@ci.garland.tx.us
He has explained his reluctance to give a waiver for an area on installation day . He will take individual requests so please write him if you have a need or other complaint.This is the best I can do at this time. The city web site also has a verizon link to file all and sundry complaints - One that came up was unlicensed companies repairing sprinklers.
