Cooper Neighborhood Association

Cooper Neighborhood Association was organized and incorporated in 2002 using the new concept for model neighborhoods.  Its boundaries are defined as the boundaries of Cooper Elementary School (Garnett Road to 145th East Avenue and 11th to 21st Street).

Everyone whose home base is within those boundaries, and supports the goals and purposes of the Association, is considered a member.  Each family and organization is encouraged to contribute a nominal fee to support the Association newsletter and other activities. 

The Association meets quarterly at Cooper Elementary School, 1808 South 123 East Avenue (unlesss otherwise notified).  Meetings are listed on the web site calendar.

The Association is incorporated as a 501(c)3 Not for Profit organization, maintains a web site and publishes a quarterly newsletter to keep its members in touch. 

Annual Dues are $10.  Checks may be made payable to Cooper Neighborhood Association.  (Dues are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.)

PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES IN WHICH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD HAS BEEN INVOLVED: 

Quarterly:  Neighborhood Meetings (with Speakers addressing topics of interest) and Neighborhood Newsletter

Monthly: Thursday Afternoon Book Club

Annual:  Neighborhood Block Party; Neighborhood Garage Sales; Dumpsters/Neighborhood Cleanup; Christmas Light Contest

Education: Partner with Cooper Elementary School; Mentoring Program for Students at Cooper; Community Schools Project; Scholarships

Neighborhood/Community  Projects: Cooper Bridge Project; Lighting Project at H.B. Johnson Park; Street Repair Projects; East Tulsa Plan –  Phase I; Neighborhood Planning Academy; Representation on PLANiTulsa

Safety & Security: Working relationship with: Tulsa Police Dept./Mingo Valley DivIsion and East Tulsa Prevention Coalition

Government: Voter Registration; Candidates Forum; Strong Voice at City Hall; City Code Enforcement; Representation on District 6 Community Council
