Our voices have been heard, and there will be no change in the name of our neighborhood's streets. More than 30 Country Plaza neighbors gathered at the Town's Public Works offices on Thursday, June 22nd, to voice displeasure at the Town's idea of changing the four Country Plaza streets to Honeysuckle, Corrine, Scott, and Harvard.
Many agreed that the names can be somewhat confusing to outsiders, but that those of us who live here have no problem with the names as they are. It was suggested by Sandy Packer in our "Once Around the Block" newsletter that better street signage might be the right solution, and all in attendance at this meeting agreed.
As a result, the Town has agreed to create a couple of new street sign designs and let the neighborhood preview them before they're made-up and installed.
Thanks to all of you who signed Megan Gonzales' petition to keep the street names as they are - once again the strength of our neighborhood was evident. It's just possible that the Town might think twice before making an attempt to implement changes in our neighborhood without first consulting with this very strong neighborhood group.
