Petition Drive

We have just begun our petition drive. This first weekend, just a few CVELG core members went out to circulate petitions so we could get a feel for how this works. It's hard work - and it will take dedication and time to get the required 62,595 valid signatures.

We will be holding small training sessions for anyone willing to participate as petition circulators. For some of you, I already have your names and I (or LR) will be contacting you in the next few days. If I miss you, please E mail me at the address at the end of this message. Wow - Here We Go

I'm new here. But I do know that Westminster has a history of stealing tax base from other cities - ask Arvada, Federal Hts., and Northglenn. Broomfield's new mall may take some sales tax revenue away from Westminster. If so, Westminster is getting a dose of its own medicine. For many years, Broomfield residents, Arvada residents, and others have shopped at the Westy Mall and have paid Westminster's sales taxes. As a result, our cities have had to have a higher property tax than the city of Westminster. It could be that the tables are turning.
I used to live in Arvada. Take a look at how Westminster handled its public works garage and dog pound situation. They put both on the edge of Westminster and told Arvada residents it was none of their business. This was not 11/2 miles away. It was right next door. Over the years, your city has beat up on every other city in the area. Apparently, they thought they could do the same thing to Broomfield. They were wrong.
By the way, I am opposed to the repeal of the city and county.
