Why is it so difficult for you to apply the rigorous methods of physical science to political science? Your comments are beset with hypotheses that fall flat. They are statements steeped in emotions. You use the classical existential approach of asking why, why, and why. That's fine. But, then you answer your own why's with balderdash. When I say that Broomfield voters, at the statewide election, approved the city/county amendment by a 62% majority, I am stating a fact. Apparently, you, despite your training, do not want to deal with facts. You would rather talk about "hidden agendas," questionable motives, evil big developers, and whatever other fabrications your macabre imagination can generate.
As I have said before, I am opposed to CVELG's efforts because I want to see Broomfield be able to focus on becoming a city and county and not have to fight a repeal effort generated by petty reasons.
I am more than willing to debate the Northwest Parkway with you or anyone else. In addition to providing a reasonable access route to DIA for all of us in the north metro area, I hope it does help Interlocken and I hope it helps Broomfield's new mall.
Democrary? If you think what CVELG is doing represents what democracy is all about, I beg to differ. You are attacking a neighbor for no real reason. You want to throw off a government because your egos got bruised. You do not live in Broomfield. You want representation without taxation. CVELG's very purpose is contrary to the principles of democracy.

Hi Joan. Here's what I know. Boulder County issued bonds to pay for open space acquisitions. Many of these open space acquistions occurred in the Broomfield area. Boulder County was concerned that Broomfield should continue to pay its proportionate share of the bonds. During the general assembly's consideration of placing the city/county matter on the statewide ballot, Boulder County requested that the proposed amendment include a provision that Broomfield would agree to pay its share of county open space bonds. Broomfield agreed. An intergovernmental agreement was entered into between Boulder County and Broomfield through which Broomfield agreed to continue to pay Boulder County Broomfield's proportionate share of the county's open space bonds. In return, residents of the City and County of Broomfield have the right to use all of Boulder County's open space areas under the same terms and conditions as residents of Boulder County. Broomfield also has the right to reference some of these open space areas on Broomfield's Master Plan if Broomfield chooses to do so. All in all, I believe it is a fair agreement for both Boulder County and Broomfield. I think it is good when governmental entities are able to cooperate with one another. This is a good example.

1. Did Boulder County Commissioners enter into an IGA with BF stating they would not openly or publically oppose the creation of the City and County of BF?

2. Did BF conduct any public hearings after the February feasibility was completed for the creation of the city and county of BF?
