For Joan

Thanks for your insight regarding wildlife. We really do need to do all that we can to protect what wildlife we have left. Let me share a short story with you. Several months ago, I and some others went for walk. We saw a mother duck and several of her siblings crossing a pond. One of the siblings kept wandering off. The mother duck took the wanderer in her mouth and smacked him three or four times against the water. That did it. The little wanderer shook his head, looked at his mother, and fell right in line. I would like for everyone to have the opportunity to see these kinds of things.

Yes, it is very well known that Interlocken is financially involved in the Parkway. They have helped fund the authority through zero interest loans and low interest loans. Big office parks need infrastructure, I am sure the parkway was a big factor in Interlocken's decision to develop in Broomfield.

The parkway is also backed by some annexation deals. This evolved from a huge annexation war in 1989 between Broomfield and Westminster. I hate to admit and tell you a fact, but had Westminster got a hold of this project, its environmental impacts would be far worse. Despite all the "crap" about the parkway, I am glad Broomfield is handling the situation rather then Westminster.

Actually, Broomfield has a real understanding about wildlife issues, it is just the damn politics the screws everything up. We need to realize what we are doing, and that involves citizen involvement. These agencies like CDOW, the EPA any environmental organization is constantly fighting for better laws and regulations, unfortunately, corporations earn more money, which means better lobbyist, well, I think you are intelligent enough to figure out the rest. It is a foolish struggle.

So, BBW, you seem to know quite a bit yourself, are you on an advisory committee?
