Many of the participants on this discussion board have told me they'd like to have input on the site plan, appearance and operations of the City & County of Broomfield Detention and Police Training Center.
To facilitate that input, an open house has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000. This open house will give area residents and other interested parties an opportunity to review and comment on the emerging plans for the City & County of Broomfield Detention and Police Training Center.
The event will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Zang's Spur and Bal Swan conference rooms in the basement of the Broomfield Municipal Center, located at One DesCombes Drive.
Attendees will be able to comment on the building designs and site plans created by Anderson Mason Dale Architects and Roth + Sheppard Architects, the firms hired by the city to design the new facility. Comments on landscaping the area around the building are also being sought.
My staff and I will be available to answer any operational questions people may have about the new detention and police training center. Other city staff members will be present to answer questions from attendees.
Two additional meetings where interested citizens can provide input have been scheduled and will be advertised in the Broomfield Enterprise (Land Use Review Commission will review the site plans on 01/31/00 & site plan and schematic design will go to City Council for approval on 02/08/00).
