Community Recycling Program

Posted in: Coventry
Is anyone interested in heading up a neighborhood recycling program, maybe initially limited to aluminum? Once we see how it goes, we could expand it further as we find out and weigh the pros and cons? Since some neighbors already recycle, and have to pay for it, wouldn't it be beneficial for the Coventry to start its own program so the association can reap the rewards from this as an on-going fundraising program, rather than our homeowners having to pay for this public service?

Additionally, we would definitely be doing our part as a community to give back to our city by reducing the amount of trash we contribute.

There may be community programs like this already in place. This would be a great volunteer project to begin now and over the cooler months, by starting with a little research to find out exactly how beneficial this could be for us.

We might even be able to partner with other communities near us and have a local news station underwrite any expenses to fund the entire project. Additionally, this would make for a great news story!

Anything we can do to produce income for our association can eliminate or reduce the need to raise our annual dues.

I look forward to our neighbor comments about this topic.

Sincerely your president,
Chris Canter
