For our March We Care Activity, we will be collecting sporting goods to send to Ashley Johnson in Cameroon. Ashley was raised in Creekside, graduated from Niwot High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Colorado College. Ashley is currently volunteering for the Peace Corps in Cameroon and, in addition to her assignment there, she has launched a sports program for women and girls. If you are interested in reading more about Ashley's adventures in Cameroon, you can check out her blog at ashleysafricanadventure.blogspot.com. This month's activity is to collect new and used sporting equipment to support Ashley's efforts.
But any other items would also be great. Items can be dropped off at Katie Wood's house (1901 Emerald Drive) between now and the end of April. Contact Katie directly if you have any quesitons: kathleeneiwood@yahoo.com.
Every summer, Creekside neighbors gather for an evening of family fun! Bring your own food and a professional chef will BBQ it to order. Events typically include a "know your neighborhood" contest for adults, as well as face painting and jumpy castles for the kids.
Have unwanted items, but don't want to go through the hastle of advertising your garage sale? Then the Creekside Neighborhood Garage Sale is just for you! The HOA does all the work of advertising and getting potential customers in the neighborhood. All you have to do is find those unwanted items and get your driveway ready at the appointed time. The large number of garage sales in one neighborhood always draws lots of potential customers!
Every year, neighbors gather to build holiday luminaria, which then cover all of the sidewalks in the entire neighborhood. This is a great way to get to know your neighbors even better and celebrate the season!
We Care is a series of charitable events which will be taking place among the connecting neighborhoods of Rainbow Ridge Estates, Rainbow Ridge, Creekside and The Farm at Creekside. These events help bring our neighbors together as a community in the spirit of serving others, and we hope you'll meet these opportunities with enthusiasm and participation. The events have been planned to support a balance of local and global organizations as well as to provide a variety of activities so that everyone might find one or more things for which to volunteer.
