New Energy Saver Calculator
Councilman Thomas Paolucci demonstrated an exciting new feature on the Town website at last night's Town Board meeting. Residents can now click on the "Calculate Your Light Bulb Savings" on the main page to learn exactly how much energy they are saving with each light bulb they replace with a compact florescent bulb, including their real dollar cost savings and how many pounds of carbon dioxide they prevented from going into the atmosphere, helping to protect our air quality and environment. This is another new initiative of the Town's G.R.E.E.N Committee, Co- chaired by Councilmen Paolucci and Scott Hughes.
The process is easy; Town residents need only to enter the Calculate Your Light Bulb Savings, create a password and logon, they will see a drop down menu where they will enter the wattage of their old bulb then the wattage of the new energy efficient replacement compact florescent bulb and click submit to see their savings. It's a simple easy entry. Because the resident has created their own individual entry logon a permanent history will be maintained enabling users to regularly monitor how their continuing bulb replacement efforts will reap growing savings each time they replace a light bulb.
All Town residents are encouraged to replace their lighting with newer energy efficient compact florescent bulbs and to look for Energy Star ratings on all electrical items they purchase in the future.
