The neighborhood was hit hard last night by a couple people targeting open garage man doors.

The police recieved at least 3 calls about breakins including one from me. My garage was not entered but my neighbors was two doors down.

I noticed footprints in my yard around 12:10am when I let the dog out, the footprints came around my house from the front, thru my backyard near the garage then proceeded thru my neighbrors yard and on down to the next.  I noticed two doors down that their garage door was wide open.  I called the police when seeing that.

Police showed up, they were following the footprints thru the entire neighborhood. They said like just about every street was hit.  The police said they think everyone that got hit got their goods back though as the theives were taking items out of garages and setting them on the side of the garage near the alley and apparently planned on driving down the alley to pick their piles of goodies.

Folks, this happens every year. Same M.O., walk right thru the back yards from one end to the other simply trying each garage door, find and open door, waltz right in.

Please, please, please leave backyard/garge lights on and LOCK YOUR GARAGE DOOR!

So long as we are an easy target (dark yards & unlocked doors) theives will continue to come back.
