I received a request from someone purporting to be a resident asking that I post the Block Watch Captain List on this site.

No, I will not do that because I do NOT want to compromise the security of the very people who have stepped up to serve the good people of our wonderful little city.  Your Block Captain shall contact you and give you, in person, the contact information that you need.

Then how am I supposed to know who is responsible for my security?  I think it is ridiculous for you to not post their names.  What are they, secret vigilantes?

Lady, for the third (3rd) time, if you want to know who your Block Captain is, then email me your name, address, and phone number to pajowm99@gmail.com amd I will have him or her contact you or I will walk up to your door and tell you.

If you live in one of the blocks that does not have a captain, it does now - YOU!  So, recruit you an alternate, make a block map, and emaill all of that to me (same email address).   Otherwise, please stop playing games with a serious matter.

Who is responsible for your security?  You are.  No, we will not issue you a gun and a badge.  You are dangerous enough with a keyboard.  I couldn't resist saying that (all in fun,........ maybe).  

Seriously, please take this project seriously..............

May I offer some advice from another Neighborhood Watch leader?

Ask the block captain (or block leader as we call them here) if they want their name, email and/or phone number posted on your site. 

This way if can be the decision of the individual.

I personally advise my associates to post only their name and cell number; but if they wish to post their home phone, address and email, that is their decision.

And my final advice would be, always be diplomatic and never insult even in fun.  Best of everything to you and your captains in your crime prevention efforts.
