Yes, Bball courts an issue

Posted in: Ivey Chase
Neighbors,
Please know that there ARE still problems with the bball courts. We live across the street & while it has gotten better since school has started, on the weekends it's still an issue. There were users out there last Sunday night after 9pm. The situation seems to have gotten worse, with young girls & leaving the area trashed. For those of us who live across the street, the loud music and screeching tires when they're leaving is hard to swallow w/ small children in bed (who also want to use the courts, but haven't been able to). The kids are starting to spread to the playground & since we can see right out our front door, have witnessed what looks to be sexual activity taking place.
Please note that last weekend our vehicle was broken into & personal property was stolen. It was in our driveway. We've also been the victims of vandal which was I guess was because they thought we called the police. in speaking with our immediate neighbors, no one wants to say anything for fear of retribution. Some of us are beginning to feel very unsafe...
I've spoken w/ Cristy & she suggested posting here. There have been discussions about a fence - the cost somewhere in the range of $10k.
This neighborhood is too nice to suffer the consequences of ''a few bad eggs''. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, please reply or email.
Thanks!

I did call the police

I called the police last Sunday. I was at the pool and noticed the problem. This is the first time I have seen this issue first hand and when I got home I called. GCPD asked me to meet them up at the pool and I waited for over an hour. Not long after I was there I they noticed me and started to leave. Once the court lights went out they all left and the police did not show up until after 10. I talked to the officer for over 40 min and he gave me the number of the East Precinct Major who I called first thing Monday morning. Luckily the Major understood the issue and setup a daily drive by for the officers in the area. If you notice the kids up at the courts, call the non-emergency number and tell them that Major Wilson asked that the officer come to your house first and not to the pool. A homeowner who is on the board, or say you are, must go with them and issue anyone a no trespass warning. If they come again they go to jail. Please email or call me (678) 592-2739 if you would like to discuss this in further detail. Jason
