GREAT NEWS !!!

In response to our request for information, we received the following answer from Councilman Loza's Assistant, Rosa Gallegos:

The Dallas City Council approved the construction award for the Timberline project on August 11, 1999.

This project consists of sidewalks on both sides of Timberline Drive from Community Drive to the existing sidewalks just north of Storey Lane.

The construction of the sidewalks is scheduled to start in November 1999.

Onycha Industries Corporation has requested a delay in starting the Sidewalks at Salidvar along both sides of Timberline.

The contractor now hopes to start the middle of December and have one side completely finished before school resumes in January.

The delay is reportedly due to the need to finish up two other projects and to allow time to produce insurance certificates for this specific project.

Work finally began on the sidewalks on Timberline from J T Saldivar Elementary School to Community Drive.

There are a couple of trees and some light pole guide wires in the way on the south side, but Onycha Industries construction workers started preparation on the north side on Wednesday, December 29th.

The City of Dallas will send engineers out to determine the relocation of either the sidewalk or the guide wires and possibly removing the trees.

There is one homeowner backyard fence built on the right-of-way on the north side; however, Onycha workers stated that would not slow their work. The fence will have to be removed.
