Talked with John Anderson the attorney for the city ~ concerning the apartments. The court order that put the security guards in place at the apts will expire at the end of this month. He is filing for an extension to keep those guards in place. You know what will happen if there are no guards there~the crime returns. We have to keep the pressure on.

Also the hearing that was scheduled in April of 2002 has been moved to November 2001. I'm not sure of the date ~ though I think it might be the 29th. I feel confident to say that the police and the attorney will again need our assistance at that time. I will do my best to keep you informed.

Activity in neighborhood

I was wondering are we seeing less crime and acitivity since the security guards?? I never really see or hear anything where we are located in the block. I have driven around the apartments alot and to this day I haven't seen the security guards. I talked the lady at the cleaners and she says she has seen a change in the last month around the cleaners and Docs. Cecilia

the security patrols are active at the apts. Crime is down and the situation at the apts seems to be much better - glad to hear the cleaners has noticed a difference -hopefully for the good. I do know the neighborhood is much quieter. The apts have a crime watch meeting on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7 pm - all neighbors are welcome to attend.
