Deerfield is a north central San Antonio subdivision with a mandatory homeowners association and restrictive covenants. Deerfield has a community pool, two tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground and around the clock security provided by off duty San Antonio Police Department uniformed officers. The current annual homeowner assessment is $450.
Deerfield's development began in 1984 and continues today. Almost 700 single family homes are located in the thirteen "units" of Deerfield. Home sizes range from garden homes of about 2,000 sq.ft. to four and five bedroom homes exceeding 4,000 sq.ft. A five person Board of Directors oversees activities within the community. Deerfield's children attend schools in the highly acclaimed Northeast ISD.
A Board of Directors is elected by the homeowners of Deerfield. Seven directors currently serve two year terms. Three directors are elected in odd years and two directors are elected in even years. The elected Directors choose within themselves the individuals who will serve as the Board President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Member at Large for the following year.
Volunteer committees play a major role in Deerfield's activities. Such committees as Welcome, Architectural Control, Mom's R Us, and Enhancement help make Deerfield a desirable community in which to live.
