I live along along the large field bordered by Providence and White Clay Creek. You can't miss it! This is often the site of impromptu fireworks displays at all times of the night througout the summer. It doesn't even have to be a holiday!
The woods at the back of this field are fast becoming a dumping ground for some idiot residents. For years many have dumped grass clippings, Christmas Trees and other yard waste there. This poses no problem because all of these items break down naturally and also keep from adding to our overcrowded landfills in Delaware.
However, several inconsiderate knuckleheads have decided they can dump car tires, lawnmowers, bicycles, among other garbage. Some do this in broad daylight without hesitation. This is just another example of the general apathy within Crofton. Too many of the residents just don't care. This is obvious by the condition of many of the homes and yards throughout. Also, by the fact many still refuse to pay the very reasonable dues for variou rediculous and lame reasons.
We as a neighborhood need to stand up to these people and let them know it is unacceptable. We need to let these inconsiderate bums know that we will not tolerate this. If they want to treat our neighborhood this way then they need to move to Brookmont Farms or whatever they want to call it now.
The proud residents of Crofton need to call out these people publicly and get the authorities involved whenever possible. I know for a fact that none of these people will even see this message. They don't waste there time taking care of their property, you think they would take the time to come to their community website? Of course not!
If you see this kind of activity call the County Police at 573-2800 for non-emergencies (fireworks, illegal dumping, etc.). For complaints call New Castle County Complaints at 395-5555 (unregister cars, cars parked in yards, etc.) By not doing anything our silence allows these jerks to keep doing whatever they want.
