Would like to get some input from the neighborhood on beautification ideas for the park this summer. An idea that has been voiced previously was to put a sign saying 'Welcome to Denniston Park'
located at the corner of Drexel & Denniston Drive coming from NW 23rd going north on Drexel. Around the welcome sign could be some shading plants. With plants, maintainance would be a concern. Watering the plants could be an area to consider. Any suggestions or creative ideas? Anyone interested in playing an active role with the beautification efforts please let us know!

Beautification Efforts
Hey Dorothy:
Great idea. I know that Crestwood, Linwood, and almost all the other historic neighborhoods have a similar sign. I would be glad to help with the plantings. To help cut down on watering all the time, we could do a xeric garden very cheaply, or we could use evergreens, or both. Annuals like portulaca (a succulent, a.k.a. ''rose moss'') requires very little water, as do most perennial wildflowers like echinacea, liatris spicata, and tickseed. Would be glad to put something together like that for you if we get the ball rolling.
