Having Washington Park so close is one of the reasons we all love living here. Something that concerns me though, is that, especially in the winter, many people do not clean up after their dogs. Of course lots of peeple do and that's great, but I wish the others would realize that having dog poop accumlate in the park makes is a less appealing place for everyone.

I agree
Dogs in the park are a problem, when owners refuse to care for their pets. I also hate when people ''walk'' their pets and allow them to soil or urinate in our yard. We have many spots in our yard which have been created by animals that are being walked. We do not own pets, and choose not to because among other things, we do not want to clean up after them. When people walk their pets, I believe it is strictly to avoid using their own yard. I resent that our yard is used as a dog run. |

dude, where's your poop bag?
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm tired of running through dog feces in the park. Everytime I go for a jog, my shoes are full of dog s**t. My wife was actually walking through the park barefoot and stepped in some dog stuff once. It got in-between her toes and everything! Why can't people who have dogs respect others by picking up after their darn dogs?! Can we get the neighborhood board to fine people? I think the neighborhood board should get on this. By Jon B. |

Don't you understand?
There are many (not all) pet owners who can neither hear their dogs bark nor notice their, uh, discourtesy. It's an unfortunate consequence of our society. Those who ignore it will also easily ignore the neighborhood association, etc. Whoever has put up the poop bags around the park has done a great service. I think that helps a lot. |
