Graffiti Hot Line

Please contact the graffiti hot line, 303-640-7867, as the first step to identify specific locations for clean-up. The WPENA is considering a volunteer event to clean-up problem areas in the neighborhood and could consider graffiti clean-up as a possibility.
I was tagged recently.

The other night I passed out in the alley behind my house after a hard night of drinking. When I woke up (approximately 6:03 am MST), my clothes were very damp. At first I thought I had urinated all over myself again while passed out. It does not happen often but more than I would really like. But I was suspicious, since I was damp on my back too and I never have peed enough to cover my entire body. Anyway... I then realized that I was covered in paint. I rushed into the bathroom where I looked in the mirror. I was shocked and confused at first then angry then I blamed myself then I was angry again then I decided I just needed to let this thing go. I realized at that point I had been what the neighborhood kids refer to as ''tagged''. The ''taggers'' had ''tagged'' me with what I assume were some type of odd ''gang signs'' and someone spray painted the words ''monkey sex'' onto my right trouser leg. I also had paint on my exposed skin in certain places on my body. It took alot of paint thinner and more than a few steel wool brushes to get the darn stuff off. It hurt too!!! Paint has been peeling off myskin evey day. Its a bit like having ''colored dandruff''. It looks like ''droppings''. People have been giving me strange looks in public lately. And along with everything else that happened to me my favourite ''evening jacket'' was soiled beyond repair. I do not think I wilkl ever be able to replace this jacket, since they do noit make Members Only jackets any longer.

I guess the point of this discussion is to warn everyone in the neighborhood not to pass out anywhere in the vicinity of their homes (maybe in the front yard or underneath the car you'll be safe) because you might get ''tagged.'' I hope it does not happen to you. I still feel like I was ''used'' in some way as a joke.
