Dumpster Dilemma

Posted in: Whittier

Hello all..
We have a house sharing our alley that consistantly throws their trash bags on the ground around the dumpster (even when it is empty). Was curious if someone might know of a number We could call to report this individual. Have asked them to be more respectful, but that seems to have made the issue worse ( now they throw their refuse onto the roof of our garage )

Thank you much.. Love the neighborhood.

Keep Denver Beautiful

We have the exact same problem plus the overflow from the dumpsters of unbagged garbage, unclosed dumpster lids and large items dumped randomly--regardless of large item pickup schedule. I called the Keep Denver Beautiful program coordinator Ken Orlin at 720-865-6800. I gave him the addresses of the ''offending'' residents and he sent them a bunch of trash information--in Spanish as well as English. Ken will be giving a short presentation at the next Whittier Assoc. meeting and will have handouts, advice, etc. about ''alley etiquette.'' situation seems a little better, but Ken will be the first to tell you that cultural and upbringing play the largest role in this behavior. However, look at all the trash left behind after the Avalanche victory parade. It is sad that so many people are so careless with the Earth. Also, at next meeting a new neighborhood inspector will be available for introductions and information about her role towards this problem. Good luck!
Appreciative

Thank you Darrell, for your response.
We have been out of the country for the last several weeks, so pardon my belated response.
I will be at the next neighborhood association meeting, and will speak with you further there. Should something come up that day, I will be sure to contact you at the number above.

Thanks again, and thanks for your hardwork within this community. This is our third residence within Whittier, and every year get better.
