IREA - Board response

is this power for Greenfield?

Where is the power from the substation going to be diverted? To Greenfield? Why am I suspicious the power is for the Greenfield Estates or Saddlerock and not Greenfield proper. But we wouldn't want an eyesore in an upscale neighborhood now would we? That would make it difficult to sell those lots, especially with rates going up!!

I just spoke with Dallas Strawn(Assistant Superintendent) and he said they did not receive a letter from IREA until a few weeks ago, but they did know about the substation 6 months ago. Why couldn't Cherry Creek do the right thing and notify our communtiy. Is our HOA telling the truth? Did they just recently find out or have they known about it for 6 months? Any educated family will not buy a house in a community knowing their children may be attending a school with a substation next to it. This affects our property value. We must all be concerned. Our HOA must get involved. Village should also help us out.

It sounds like you are putting a nice spin on what is a problem. Who are these homeowners that they have supposedly already been in contact with and what is their opinion? I will bet that they don't want this substation near their $300,000 plus homes. This must be stopped. Next to a school, how unbelievable. If Cherry Creek what this land was going to be used for someone should be accountable!!!! What is Villages new filing going to be worth now?
